Mi babies, they graduated!!!

It seems like I just graduated from highschool myself yesterday. My memories of this day mostly consist of me feeling like I was going to pass out, and just wanting the ceremony to end so I could eat! Oh and of course we all remember the infamous moment when my hat fell off. On stage. But in actuality, it's already been a year since I graduated. And this past Tuesday (the 14th) the class of 2011 had their chance.
Included in this class was my little brother, who despite some struggling with grades in the past, was able to push through and graduate on time with everyone else in his class. :)
Davic Graduated!
And of course graduating by his side was his older sister, and the other half of my brain. She may not have graduated with the rest of our class, but she beat several odds that would have kept the average student from ever graduating. My Linh Graduated!
I'm so extremely proud of both of them! And can't wait to see where else life takes them. <3

Cupcakes and fish.

So recently I was invited over to the Viet family's place, and Mylinh wanted to make cupcakes from her special cupcake book again. As usual we flipped through the book looking at design after design but realized most of them are too complicated for our lazy selves. But we ended up deciding on a cute but fairly simple owl design.

And when it was time for John to try, he made...a rather special owl....
It's okay special owl, I still love you!

Oh and I never blogged about it before, but a while back my fish had babies! I didn't know you had to do anything special for them, but apparently they need a net thing so there was this whole adventure of buying the stuff and catching all the little fishies, and it was all very exciting, but I was a loser and never blogged it like I said I would.

HOWEVER, a few days ago that holelie fish had MORE babies, even more than before. This time I took a picture:
You can't tell from this picture but they were TINY. They grow really fast thought and are already bigger.

Now I just need to get their daddy to pay child support. :P

Psycho Sexy Super Magic

Oops I forgot to update the day after my Art institute appointment thing. Imagine that....

So what happened was, we followed mapquest's (wrong) directions and were late. What a great start huh? ;)
I got a private tour of the school, because I'm so super special, and got to see a few classes as they were happening. I ended up getting an admissions advisor person that's pretty awesome. He's taking classes himself so he was able to give my first-hand advise and was very very honest with me. Which was good cause I was expecting some crusty old white guy try to completely sell me on the school regardless of the realistic costs. We talked in his office for a while and I had to fill out some paperwork, and at this point I was getting kind of hungry but oh well it'd be over right? wrooong.

Next I had to sit at a computer, read a 20 minute long thing about loans, sign a MPN, and then read some other thing. At this point I was starving. In fact now that I think about it I hadn't eaten since about 12 and it was now approaching 4:00.
When I FINALLY finished the super boringtastic computer loan things that I have now completely forgotten any knowledge
from, we still had to meet with my financial advisor....

By the time we got to go in and see her. I was really tired, and really hungry, and basically felt like I was going to pass out. It's kind of hard to listen to a lady talk about loans and expenses and grants when you feel like you're going to pass out. But I somehow survived it until the end and got something to eat.

Despite my practically dying, and all the expensiveness, I left with a positive feeling. At this point I would say I'm about 99% sure that I want to go there. and the other 1% of unsureness is probably just my normal worry-wort self thinking about all the negative things that could (BUT WONT) happen.

I would try to be more interesting, but I gotta get back to studying kanji...I'm kinda gonna miss cramming for kanji tests!

Cleanse - Day 2

Today was much better food-wise than yesterday. I was able to eat the foods we had without any problem.
Of course I still wanted ice cream today, and around lunch time I really wanted fast food like I'd normally be eating. But the cravings actually didn't last that long, and I happen to have fairly strong willpower.

Today is the last day of my full cleanse. Which now I feel kind of lame about cause it's only two days.....
BUT I'll still follow my diet by about 75% tomorrow. Just not cutting things out strictly and completely.

I didn't mention it before but my original day to go to Seattle for college stuff failed. I was unable to get that day off from work...SO it was rescheduled for this Tuesday which I was already guaranteed off! I'm excited to see my possible future living area, and since my cleanse will be over I might as well get some seattle-exclusive junkfood right? ;)

Cleanse - Day 1

Even though I already eat healthier than the majority of America, I still don't consider myself healthy enough. I still eat way too much fast food, I still eat way too much sugar, and I still eat way too much refined white carbs. SO what am I doing about it? I'm going on a cleanse! For this weekend(ish depending on if I can stand it any longer than that) I'm not eating any sugar other than the natural sugars found in fruit, the only carbs I'm eating is a very very small ammount of whole grain carbs, and I'm not consuming any dairy at all.

This morning was...not so great. I made the mistake of not going to the store first to stock up on foods I can eat. So the only protein I could really eat was eggs....which I detest. - _ - Other than eggs I was also lucky enough to munch on plain lettuce and half of a banana.
After I took a shower we went to the store so I wouldn't starve. I stocked up on vegetables, hummus, fruit, and meat. While I was there EVERYTHING sounded good. The candy, the frozen pizza, the free samples of bread. But no not today.

At the moment I'm craving ice cream like no other. The sonic commercial on TV didn't help either. But the closest thing I'll be eating to that is....pineapple?

But I'm fairly good at doing these types of things. I'm not one to cheat or bend the diet rules, and it's only for a few days. :) And for all you saying "Oh but Kent you're already skinny, why are you dieting" this isn't for weightloss!!! It's a cleanse to get rid of the bad things I eat too much of, so that I can add them back in afterwards [hopefully] in moderation. And also just out of curiosity to see how my body feels without those things and if I can even do it. Which I CAN just wait and see!

Ohay!

Oh hi Sarah loyal blog-reading friends. Hows life? Good? Grood.

My life has been nothing special. I spent some random frivolous money, I had 14(ish) babies, successfully made cupcakes that are supposed to be the most difficult thing ever, weaseled my way out of family events, discovered this strange shiny warm thing in the sky, won 15 dollars in a blind-folded sushi contest, and hand-created 3 of the best cards you've ever seen.

One thing I suppose I should mention is that I applied to the Art Institute. The direction of this blog might actually change towards the direction of everyone else's. Okay let me rephrase that, this blog might actually change towards the direction that everyone's is supposed to be in if they ever actually updated their's. :P

Tomorrow I get to "be sick" and stay home from work. And by that I mean go to Seattle and have an interview at the college and check it out and see if it's worth being in thousands of dollars of debt over. Though I have to say the idea of being a "grown up" out on my own sure seems scary.

Okay here's an unrelated pitchur since all good blog entries have photos!

Friendship Cupcakes

Everyone is on spring break but me!!! Well technically I'm on break from school, but since I only take one easy class, and I still have work with longer hours than normal, it's not really much of one.
So I apologize to anyone who may have tried to hang out with me this past week. Maybe in the future you should tell your schools to coordinate their spring break with my schedule. :]

But I did get to have fun last Sunday when my Viet family came over to make cupcakes! In the beginning we picked out a design from MyLinh's cupcake book and wanted to make them look really good. But we ended up getting pretty lazy with them near the end. :P

Take a look at some of the finished ones.

Oh and apparently making sunflower petals takes practice. You can see the difference between the ones of the left, which sent us into a hysteric laughing fit, and the ones on the right that look pretty good.

Am I making anyone jealous?? hungry? Well you should be because they're the best! :D
